I agree and disagree. Yes it’s terrible if you are going to get a mortgage for the house and pay more. But if you can get a cheaper house and a cheaper mortgage, then let somebody rent and pay your mortgage using the rent money. There are a plenty of good deals out there. Luckily for my son and his fiancée, they listen to me about getting a two family house and accept a renter. They are able to get a good deal. All we need to do is to be aware.
